A batch is the chunk of work you send to the floor. Push it when materials are ready. A priority matrix (a build order) sorts the units inside. The shop builds the way crates pack.

Priority matrix

Build for the crate, not the order you typed.

When a batch hits the floor, queues sort by build order. New batches line up behind work already going. Inside a batch, the matrix works crate by crate, from the bottom up.

The first batch you release stays in front. New ones line up behind it.

Bottom-up level

Level 0 sits on the crate floor. It gets built first, so heavy frames load before light tops.

Crate priority

Two crates on the same level? The batch package order breaks the tie. Every crate fills evenly.

One tablet per operator.

Each column on the station is one live tablet. An operator starts a kit and pulls parts from stock. Then they tap Done. The cart holds the finished pulls until a lead signs off.

  • Start locks the clock so times stay honest
  • Pause / Done are big enough for gloves
  • Raise an issue lights the andon (help light)

On the tablet

The cut diagram is on the tablet.

Operators see the bar, the cut lengths, the milled ends, and the waste. Then they tap Pause or Done. Finished bars sit in the cart until QC (a quality check) signs them off.

Build order, not guesswork.

The tablet follows the priority matrix. It starts at the bottom of each crate. It then moves crate by crate, so packs load the way prep stacked them. Any tablet can raise andon so a lead jumps in.

Mark each crate Loaded. Finish the BOL and add a QR code the driver can scan. Then approve the truck to leave. Status moves from Loading → Awaiting sign-off → In route → Arrived.

The receiving tablet lists the load and every crate on the truck. Crews tap Accounted-for on each one. These are the same crates that left your shop.
